Job Title:  Web Design Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Web Design Coordinator to join an ambitious full service design agency, based in Poole.

About the role:

This role is fundamental to the website design process, ensuring not only that the website is transitioned in a timely fashion, but also working hard to build strong relationships with the clients, whilst adding substantial marketing insight and value to the client and in turn, the website.

The ideal candidate will forge sound relationships that can withstand the inevitable time-keeping pressures of working as part of a design studio. They will be able to identify with a practice, its offering and its demographic to advise how best to convey the important marketing messages in an effective way on the website.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in both website design, as well as digital and online marketing, who will take websites to the next level, whilst strengthening client relations. You will need to have marketing experience, and ideally design skills to ensure you offer perceived value to the client during the development process.

Daily Activities:

  • * Contact new clients.
  • * Discuss missing content and establish a timescale as to when they’ll be provided.
  • * Advise, steer and encourage the client.
  • * Build strong and lasting relationships.
  • * Work to an agreed service level agreement to ensure client is regularly updated, feels valued and is being given a ‘helping hand’.
  • * Regular contact via email and phone to clients in development.
  • * Managing clients and their expectations effectively. Offer advice and have the strength to inform clients when their ideas are poor – or to the detriment of the website. Similarly, if they are asking for something unreasonable, feedback to the client.
  • * Source or produce content where required to move the process forward.
  • * Liaise with copywriter for missing copy – and request additional copy where relevant.
  • * Liaise with copywriter to ensure the website is fully proofed after the ‘build’ has been completed.
  • * Offer marketing advice and support throughout the development process.
  • * Thoroughly proof websites when they have been returned from design, checking for errors, inconsistencies, missed work, etc.
  • * Feedback to the designers in a ‘positive’ and ‘constructive’ manner regarding any errors/ missed content etc. and establish timescales.
  • * In line with the SLA, call / e-mail clients to chase missing content and feedback where relevant. Essentially, doing all possible to ensure that the website ‘goes live’ as soon as possible.
  • * Be proactive and keep clients appraised of design times and changes to this using the design workflow document(s).
  • * Keep regular contact with clients and build strong relationships.
  • * Offer services such as photography and copywriting to clients who are lacking this information or taking a while to get their sites completed.
  • * Update ACT with all relevant email or telephone communication with the client.
  • * Provide support to the sales team when they are out of the office – this may include dealing with incoming telephone calls, advising when work has been completed or liaising over telephone / e-mail as per instruction from the sales person.
  • * Produce website ‘health check’ reports upon request.

Domains (hosting / transfers)

Duties to include:
  • * Ensuring that FTP access is had to all websites at inception of project.
  • * Transferring domains over to their server where applicable.
  • * Ensuring that when it comes to upload, the hosting is in place and it is clear in Act the domain that is being uploading to, and the relevant access.
